چکیده

The activation of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) is the key event fibrosis. Furthermore, activated HSCs also play an important role in progression hepatocellular cancer (HCC). Bone morphogenetic protein 14 (BMP14) a member TGF-β/BMP superfamily. So far, most studies have analyzed BMP14 context bone and cartilage formation homeostasis. aim this study was to assess expression function liver fibrosis HCC. increased during vitro primary human mouse models In HCC, as well non-tumorous tissues, there significant correlation between alpha-smooth-muscle actin (α-SMA), established marker for HSC activation. RNAi-mediated suppression resulted reduced transcription factors inhibitor differentiation 1 (ID1) ID2, known targets BMP signaling. Interestingly, α-SMA collagen BMP14-depleted cells, while treatment with recombinant induced ID1, expression. HCC cell lines, proliferation, migratory activity colony formation. summary, our data indicate major cellular source enhanced fibrotic disease show that exhibits pro-fibrogenic pro-tumorigenic effects. Future analyses will reveal potential soluble growth factor therapeutic target or prognostic patients chronic disease.

Effects of fibromodulin protein expression on NFkB and TGFβ signaling pathways in liver cancer cells

Introduction: The incidence rate of liver cancer is continuously increasing. Currently, gene therapy is applied to improve various medical issues such as cancer treatment approaches. Correspondingly, fibromodulin involves in many biological and physiological processes through interaction with growth factors and signaling pathway receptors. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of...

changes in the expression of bone morphogenetic protein 7 and tamm– horsfall protein in the early stages of diabetic nephropathy

background bone morphogenetic protein 7 (bmp7) has been suggested to play a protective role against kidney injury in chronic kidney disease. objectives to identify the critical molecular regulators in the early stage of diabetic nephropathy, we studied the expression of bmp7 and 2 important kidney-specific markers, podocin and tamm–horsfall protein (thp). materials and methods a diabetic nephro...

a comparison of bone morphogenetic protein-7 mutant expression in prokaryotic and eukaryotic hosts

objective: bone morphogenetic protein-7 (bmp-7) is a multifunctional growth factor predominantly recognized for its osteoinductive properties. due to the high cost of this protein, the availability of bmp-7 for treatment is limited. the heterologous production of recombinant hbmp-7 has been performed in a number of expression systems. in this study a novel form of bmp-7 was expressed in eukaryo...

Bone morphogenetic protein signaling in joint homeostasis and disease.

Despite advances in therapies that target inflammation and tissue destruction in chronic arthritis, stimulation of tissue repair and restoration of joint function, the ultimate goal of treatment, is far from achieved. We introduce a new paradigm that may help to improve our understanding and management of chronic arthritis. The presence or absence of tissue responses distinguishes destructive a...

Bone morphogenetic protein signaling and growth suppression in colon cancer.

Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are members of the transforming growth factor-beta superfamily, which utilize BMP receptors and intracellular SMADs to transduce their signals to regulate cell differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis. Because mutations in BMP receptor type IA (BMPRIA) and SMAD4 are found in the germline of patients with the colon cancer predisposition syndrome juvenile p...
